I was reading a book recently and the author lamented the negative impact of television on our society. He said it soaks up time that could be better spent in more constructive endeavors and harms family values. The book was written in 1965. At that time, our household had one TV that received 5 channels in black and white. We used to think if an ancestor from 100 years ago could see our world today, they would be amazed. I wonder if they would be disappointed.
My first 10 years with Waddell & Reed, the year to year changes seemed minor and many advisors worked by themselves or had a single administrative assistant. The birth of products, software and regulation changes over the last 10 years has been remarkable. That is why most advisors are part of a team now with some team members specializing in certain segments of the operation. The number of support resources from our home office and firms whose products we use has also grown. We welcome your questions, not because we have all the answers, but because we can find the answers and present solutions to you that meet your needs.
